Aart Kooij (1961, Amersfoort) lived and worked in Asia from 2001 to 2015.
He published three books: Faces of Shanghai, 24/7 Seoul and Guangzhou "between highways and high rises" and held exhibitions in The Netherlands and China.
Kooij has worked as a freelance photographer for the Dutch dailies NRC Handelsblad and Trouw, as well as for several magazines.
